Binance has a sophisticated risk control system and liquidation methodology to facilitate high-leverage trading under the Maintenance Margin paradigm. Binance Futures implemented leverage limits for users with less than three-day-old registered futures accounts on July 27, 2021.
The following leverage limits apply:
- Beginning on the effective date, new users with registered futures accounts of less than three days will be prohibited from opening positions with leverage greater than 20x.
- The increased leverage limitations will also apply to existing users with registered futures accounts of fewer than three days.
- Users with open positions with less than 20x leverage will be unable to change their positions beyond 20x leverage.
- Users having open positions with more than 20x leverage may choose to preserve their position leverage, but they will not be able to increase it further. They will only be allowed to deleverage their open positions to 20x or less.
For new users with no open positions, no new positions may exceed 20x leverage. Leverage limits for new users will gradually increase after three days of registration.
